Arts and Crafts
In this section you will be able to find the instructions for each craft, the materials needed, and a video to help you put together a fun and exciting lesson, enjoy!
Activity 1: Autumn Leaf Stamping
Materials: Autumn fallen leaves, paint - green/brown/orange/red/purple/yellow, A3 paper, pencil to draw out-line of the tree
Instructions:
#1. Collect leaves in the playground and bring them back to the class room.
#2. Discuss with the class which colours wecan see and which we can use to use.
#3. Demonstrate how to do the activity.
#4. Paint the back of the leaves (where the veins of the leaf are) using one or more autumnal colours.
#5. Place them on the paper before gently pressing down on the leaf.

Activity 2:Haloween
Materials: Apples, Orange craft paint, Green craft paint, Paint brushes, Cutting board, Knife, White paper
Trick or treat bag: bag, glue, cut out eyes/mouth/teeth.
Instructions:
#1. (Teacher step) First cut your apples in half, dry inside and outside with paper towel.
#2. On a paper plate or scrap paper, squirt a little orange paint on one, and green on the other.
#3. Using the inside of the apple as a stamp , dip the inside of your apple in orange paint, making sure it’s completely covered in paint, then stamp on your white paper.
#4. Using a paint brush, paint a leaf and stem of the top of your pumpkins.
#5. Let your beautiful pumpkins dry and display proudly.
#1. Cut out each pattern piece from the PDF download.
#2. Place your cardstock face down if it’s one-sided.
#3. Set each pattern piece on the paper color you want that facial feature to be, and trace around it with a marker.
#4. Cut out on the drawn lines.

Activity 3: Hedgehog Leaves and Twigs
Materials: Card paper, black marker, coloured card paper.
Instructions:
Tip: Demonstrate how to make the hedgehog.
For very YL - Hand out hedgehog pre-drawn forms on paper and let children cut out the hedgehog shape.

Activity 4: Gingerbread man Theatre Project
Instructions:
Read story - discuss the characters - what is the fox/gingerbread man/etc like? Ellicit describing words. Explain that we will be performing a play. Decide who will be which character.

Week 1 Rehearse script for the play. Script for play
Week 2 Create story sequence.
#1. Cut and paste the images to make the story sequence.
#2. With older children, help them to write underneath the images.
#3. With younger children you can use the following doument and cut and paste the story.
#4. You can make this into a "booklet" if you'd like. Colour this in after wards.
#5. Rehearse the play.
Week 3. Gingerbread man Theatre Project
#1. Make props and practice the play. Each group makes different props to save time. See the script for what needs doing:
costumes,
➢ a cardboard cottage, trees, bushes and a fence,
➢ a table, chairs, a bench, a cane, kitchen utensils, ingredients,
➢ a cardboard or stuffed felt/plush gingerbread man toy,
➢ a cardboard wood-fired oven,
➢ toy cakes/cookies
➢ a river (a long piece of blue fabric, with cardboard waves pinned to it – optionally)
Activity 5: Pop-up Christmas Card
Materials: glue, green card, blue card, yellow card/paper, snow flake confetti (optional)

Activity 7: Valentine's Day Cards
Materials:

Red card,

Double sided sticky tape
Instructions:
Before making the cards, brainstorm about things you could write in the cards with the students. Write 3 or 4 of these up on the board and let the children pick what they'd like to put in their cards.

Demonstrate how to assemble the cupcake with the children. Then, put the children into groups around different tables with several teachers observing and helping.

Activity 10: Egg cup Bouquet
Materials:

Old egg cartons

Green pipe cleaners

Instructions:
#1. Paint an A4 card light blue
#2. Paint the egg carton (already cut up into individual cups) 5 x cups per child,
#3. Bunch 5 x green pipe cleaners together and tie them with a yellow ribbon.
#4. When the paper is dry, glue the egg cups and the pipe cleaners bunch to the page.

Instructions
#1. Make the cookies beforehand (they can also freeze.)
#2. Using the sun cookie cutter, roll out the pate a sucre to make enough suns for the children to stick onto their cookies.
#3 Demonstrate how to decorate the cookies with the children watching.
