Objective

Vocabulary: mathematician, older, younger, bigger, smaller, hotter, colder, sweeter, taller, shorter, happier, cardinal numbers

Grammar: comparative

Sentence: Sarah is ____ than George. I am ____ than Mike.

Objective 1: Students will get familiar with comparative adjectives.

Objective 2: Students will feel confident with adjectives and begin to insert them in comparative sentences

Story Time

  • Read story for the students and then let the students take turns reading aloud.

  • Preteach pronunciation for any repeated or difficult words, for example "much heavier, slower, more colourful."

Flashcards

  • Only introduce as many flash cards as you think your students can handle as these are comparative adjectives and more difficult to grasp.

  • Use motions and facial expression also to convey the meaning and make sure (in French, if needed) that your students understand the words.
