20 min Song / Extra Game
Simple Song: Put on your Shoes
Pre-teach the song without music - bring in clothes or dress a figure on the board (e.g. the cat). Then, demonstrate with a student or two. Show the children the song clip and play the song (on your phone or computer) once with the students just listening and doing the actions. Play again and ask the children to sing along.
Example Games: What's Missing, describe what your classmates are wearing, match the clothing to the weather (dress the girl/mouse with clothing)
15 min Individual Activity
The aim of this section in the session is to spend time with each child individually. Encourage each child to either repeat vocabulary and sentences or to produce them independently, depending on their level.
Explain the activity and do part or all of it as a group/class. Play "Listen and Point" - read the names of the clothing out loud and ask the children to point at the item of clothing. Walk around room to see how the children are doing, help those that are struggling. Spend time with each child. Ask a question about the lesson or what they might be colouring. Encourage each child to either repeat vocabulary and sentences or to produce them independently, depending on their level.
Each handout is age-specific, please ensure you use the handout that corresponds to your group. You may decide to use a handout aimed at a different age if you group is of a high level.
